Cream Biscuits

source: Bad For You Cookbook quantity:   time: 30 minutes

Flaky, rich, easy... and deadly.

Ingredients

2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup butter
2 cups heavy cream

Directions

  1. Whisk dry ingredients together. Blend in butter until mixture resembles cornmeal.
  2. Add cream and mix well.
  3. Roll out to 1/2" thickness.
  4. Cut out biscuits.
  5. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 25 minutes at 400 degrees.

Notes

For a very nice backpacking meal (very filling, keeps well): roll out to 1/4" instead of 1/2", cut into 3"x3" squares, pile some chopped ham and grated swiss cheese onto one biscuit, top with another, pinch to seal, bake 15-20 minutes.
